“The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is a monumental wine. It’s about 60% Mourvedre, with the balance a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Counoise. It’s enormously concentrated and rich, yet it remains fresh and vibrant, with scents of blueberries, black cherries, singed leather, woodsmoke and espresso. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, velvety and incredibly long, with a finish that seems to go on for minutes. It’s a tour de force in winemaking.”
