La Conseillante 2017

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 La Conseillante sashays out of the glass with the most gorgeous notes of lilacs, Black Forest cake, kirsch and black raspberries plus nuances of cinnamon stick, dark chocolate and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm, finely grained texture with bags of perfumed black fruits and wonderful freshness, finishing very long and very fragrant. 2024 – 2053La Conseillante received just a little frost on the border, where the second wine – Duo – is usually sourced, amounting to about about 15% crop loss. On the plateau, where the grand vin comes from, the yield was a reasonable 39 hl/ha. Harvest here started on September 5th for the Merlot and finished with the Cabernet Franc on September 29th. The alcohol this year comes in at an elegant 13.5%. The final wine will see around 70% new oak.Published: Mar 17, 2020
