One may not always share the tastes of Robert Parker, especially as regards the wines of Burgundy, but it is hard not to agree when Pierre-Antoine Rovani, who represented him in Burgundy, writes of the Robert Groffier domaine in The Wine Advocate (N簞118):??ach and every wine at this Domaine was a first-rate example of its terroir, from the Bourgogne to the Grands Crus. The meticulous work of Serge Groffier (Robert?? son) in the vineyards is evidenced by each glass of nectar from this well-known and certainly soon-to-be-famous domaine.?hese words were written seventeen years ago, in 1998, and it is now clear that the prophecy has indeed come to pass: the Groffier domaine, which already had a fine reputation, is today recognized as one of the best wine producers in Burgundy.
