A more than honorable performance in a vintage best forgotten, the 2013 Montrose reveals aromas of dark berries and cedary new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich palate framed by firm, powdery tannins. I suspect it will be at its best over the coming six or seven years, making it an atypically short-lived wine by this estate’s standards. 2016 – 2028
